How Do I Set up My White-Label Agency Dashboard?

For users to be able to access your white-label Agency dashboard, you must first provide Shoutem with at least 3 subdomains that we can use to point to your dashboard. Since there are many different domain providers, feel free to drop us an email if you encounter any difficulties.

In order to set the redirection correctly on your domain, you want to find the DNS settings under your web domain account. DNS settings are separated into a few categories and we’ll be working with CNAME for setting this up.

First, you need to find your domain’s DNS area. This can be labelled as “DNS Settings”, “DNS Control”, “DNS Manager”, “Advanced Zone Control” or something similar. If you can’t find something like this, feel free to reach out.

Setting up redirection for your White-label dashboard

When you find the DNS settings, select “Add New Record” or a similar option depending on your domain provider. For Agency account, you will need to add 3 records in total. In order to allow your clients to visit your white-label Agency dashboard, you will need to set up CNAME domain name redirection with the following parameters:

STEP 1
  • Record type: CNAME
  • Name (subdomain) – builder.yoursite.com
  • Points to / Hostname / Alias / Destination / Record Value – Point your subdomain to: whitelabel.shoutem.com
  • TTL Value – Not all control panels have this. If you do, leave this value at its default. No need to change this.

STEP 2
  • Record type: CNAME
  • Name (subdomain) – *.api.yoursite.com
My domain provider does not support wildcards, what should I do?
  • Points to / Hostname / Alias / Destination / Record Value – Point your subdomain to: whitelabel.api.shoutem.com
  • TTL Value – Not all control panels have this. If you do, leave this value at its default. No need to change this.

STEP 3
  • Record type: CNAME
  • Name (subdomain) – v4.yoursite.com
  • Points to / Hostname / Alias / Destination / Record Value – Point your subdomain to: whitelabel.shoutem.com
  • TTL Value – Not all control panels have this. If you do, leave this value at its default. No need to change this.

Once the values are entered, confirm these settings by selecting “Save”, “OK” or “Submit” depending on your provider.

After you set this up, it can take up to 48h to give the DNS server of your domain provider enough time to refresh itself and process the change.

Adding your domain to Shoutem dashboard

Once you create CNAME records, you should link your domain with Shoutem builder as a final integration step. To do so, please log into your Shoutem builder, then tap on the caret icon next to your e-mail address in the upper right corner and choose My Account -> Agency. You will find the “Custom domains” field there and simply add your domain.

Do not add https:// or www. to this specific field - we accept only yourdomain.com inputs, eg. shoutem.com and not https://shoutem.com. Once your domain is properly configured, you will be able to access it from builder.yourdomain.com.

Reach out to us so that we can add an SSL certificate to it.
